Biography

Flavio G. Cuccurullo was born in Avellino on 12/19/1992. 

He took his first steps toward music at the age of 11. 

He studied classical guitar with M.Roberto Petrella and piano with M. Nina Dajan.

In 2010 he passed the admissions of “Jazz Guitar” and “Composition M.A.I. (Music Applied to Images)” at the state conservatory Giuseppe Martucci in Salerno, earning a diploma in Composition with top marks.

To date he has signed works in categories such as: Commercials, short films, Installations, Live Electronics, Pop, Rock, Classical and Symphonic arrangements.  

In 2015 he participated in the Berlin Film Festival together with director Raffaele Troianiello composing the music for the short film “Number 23724” based on Ascanio Celestini's famous monologue “Io cammino in fila indiana 

In 2016 he signs the soundtracks for the following short films: 

“In the Beginning” directed by Sara Cardillo.

“The Last Egg” directed by Samuel Dablew 

“Mom” directed by Aco Tenriyangelli 

“Walter” directed by Walton Zed 

He wins during the international film festival “Cinemadamare”, directed by La7 television journalist Franco Rina, the “Best Sound” award as best composer for the music of “Mom” by Aco Tenriyangelli. 

He wins, following the film music workshop held by maestro Adriano Aponte at the “Social World film festival” in Vico Equense, a scholarship in “Film Scoring” at the Academy of Arts and Entertainment in Naples studying with maestro Bruno Campanino.

During the festival he composed the music for two short films:

“A beautiful Li(f)e” directed by Giustino Pennino. 

“Giulia” directed by Martino Mangiacapra (featured in 2017 at the 70th Cannes Film Festival). 

In 2017 he made the music for: 

“La via nova - Formiche” (feature film) directed by Michele Cinquegrana 

“Miasma” (short film) directed by Marco Lena 

Also in 2017 he wrote, arranged and directed the music for “Fluxus,” a play by playwright Clemente Napolitano with the extraordinary participation of the “Orion Vocal Ensamble.” 

In August of the same year, his piece “Bishop of Lights” won the composition competition held by Blue Spiral Record and was included in the album “The Minimal Piano Series Vol.I” 

In September 2017 he won the “Film Scoring competition” held by CAIFF (California Independent Film Festival) for music written for the short film “Mono” by Al Benoit. 

In January 2018 he joined the Los Angeles-based “E3Studios” led by Evan Evans, for which he writes additional music for international film productions.

In May 2018 he signed a publishing contract with the record label “Blue Spiral Records”, with which he released his debut album entitled “Seven”, an entirely instrumental album with cinematic colors and characterized by a strong personal aesthetic. 

Thanks to the collaboration with M. Giulio Marazia, director of the OFC Orchestra Filarmonica Campana, the piece “Orion” is premiered at the Teatro S.Alfonso Maria De Liguori in Pagani (SA). 

He then writes the music for the short film “Lost & Found” by Indian director Surya Dev Singh.

In October of the same year he was commissioned the piece “The Echoes of Eternal Beauty” for string quintet and Greek Clarinet by international artist and painter Nello Petrucci, on the occasion of the vernissage of his exhibition dedicated to Pompeii presented in the city's excavations in October 2019. 

In February 2019 he wrote, for the Miur project “Musica D'ensemi,” four pieces “Fuoco,” “Terra,” “Aria,” and “Acqua” inspired by the supernaturalness of the gods of Greek mythology. 

The pieces were directed by M. Pericle Odierna at the locations of Villa Ravaschieri (Roccapiemonte, Sa) and at the archaeological excavations of the temples of Paestum (Sa)

In the same month, he is the winner with the song “Remembering the Future” of the “Score This” Composition Competition organized by the famous VST production company 8Dio. 

On March 29, 2019, his second record work “VITRIOL” produced and published by Blue Spiral Records is released.

The album boasts national and international collaborations, such as that of cellist Mariko Muranaka (Hans Zimmer, Madonna, Cirque Du Soleil, Michael Jackson), M. Pericle Odierna (Film Music Composer), Lithuanian lead singer of Laminguo Agota Ago and French-Armenian Vocalist Audrey Kesseidjan. 

In April 2019, he is commissioned to write the piece “Circles” for the international music festival “Jazz-It” created by the editorial director of “Jazz Italia” Luciano Vanni.

The piece will be performed by international pianist Stefania Tallini and the Artemus Ensemble of Pompeii conducted by M. Alfonso Todisco. 

Achieves in June 2019 the certificate of merit for the Master in “Technique of musical composition for cinema” Level I and II coordinated by the Masters Pericle Odierna and Michele Belmonte 

In September 2019 he records with the Artemus Ensemble conducted by M. Alfonso Todisco the album “Gli Echi dell'Eterna Bellezza” together with important names such as Antonio Onorato, Pericle Odierna and Nicola H. Samale.

The album was produced by Satyr Mb Production. 

In October 2019 he composed, arranged and recorded the music for the short film “Never Ending” by Indian director Manav Kumar. 

In December 2019 he composes, arranges and records the music for the short film “Pneuma” by Marco Lena director as part of the 14th “Coffi Film Festival” at Vietri sul Mare (Sa). 

In January 2020 he composes, arranges and records music for the short film “Eligens” by director Fabio Longagnani. 

In February 2020 he composes, arranges and records the music for the short film produced by Contemply Art , “The Last Whiskey with the Mad Hatter” directed by Nello Petrucci, starring Titti Nuzzolese and Ciro Cascina. 

As of February 2020, he is Music Supervisor and Music Director at Satyr MB Production music section. 

In May 2020, he composes, arranges and records the music for the short film “Mammals” produced by NewGen Entertainment and directed by Sebastiano Messina. 

In September 2020, he composes, arranges and records the music for the short film “Soli” directed by Flavio Simeone.

In October 2020, he begins his collaboration with Flavio Cangialosi's Library Production Company “Xperimenta” in the role of Beta Tester and Composer. 

In December 2020 he composes, arranges and records the music for the short film “Red Box” by Roman director Stefania Soellner. 

In the same month he composes, arranges and records the music for the documentary “ 'A Pastellessa” directed by Andrea Valentino. 

In April 2021 he composes, arranges and records the music for the short film “Perla Madre” produced by Cinesia Film and directed by Davide Mainone and Mauro Morandini. 

In September 2021 he composes, arranges and records the music for the film “Dhavak” directed by Abhishek Sharma. 

In the same month he composes the opening jingle for the I edition of the “Pompeii Street Art Festival.” 

In October 2021 he wins the “Music for Cinema” award at the Naples Cultural Classic Festival for the music for “The Last Whiskey with the Mad Hatter” directed by Nello Petrucci. 

In March 2022 he composed, arranged and recorded the music for the short film “Tieniti Tutto” directed by Gianluca Della Monica. 

In May 2022 his piece “Circles” is premiered by the “United Soloists Orchestra” conducted by M. Arseniy Shkaptsov at the RSI auditorium in Lugano, Switzerland. 

In July 2022 he composes, arranges and records music for the Commercial section of the hotel chain “Baglioni Hotels”.

In September he composes, arranges and records the music for the short film “Scossa” directed by Valerio Marcozzi. 

In October 2022 he releases his third record work “God Shaped Hole” produced and published by Blue Spiral Records.

The album boasts national and international collaborations such as with Singer and Vocal Artist Ekaterina Shelehova, singer and director Alice Tamburrino and violinist Giusi Arvonio. 

In November 2022 he composed, arranged and recorded the music for the short film “The Past(e)” directed by Alice Tamburrino.

Nel dicembre del 2022 compone, arrangia e registra assieme al compositore americano Evan Evans le musiche per il lungometraggio “Showdown on the Brazos” per la regia di Bill Foster. 

In February 2023 he composed, arranged and recorded the music for the short film “Dark Compost” directed by Alice Tamburrino.  

In April 2023 he composes, arranges and records the music for the short film “Eligens” produced by Kinema Production and directed by Fabio Longagnani  

In June 2024 he composes, arranges and records the music for the documentary “Scaltri Ingenui” produced by Kinema Production to be directed by Fabio Longagnani  

In December 2023 he composes, arranges and records the music for the short film “In Depth” produced by Stormcloud Enterteinment to be directed by Stefano Moscone  

In February 2024 he composes, arranges and records the music and does the Sound Design for the short film “La Tana dello Scoiattolo” directed by Mattia Bonpane and Giuseppe Clemente. 

In April 2024 he curates the Sound Design for the short film “MayDay” produced by FILO Production and directed by Simone D'alessandro. 

In April 2024, he composes, arranges and records the music for the feature film “The Voice” produced by Oasis Entertainment and directed by Amar Sir Kamepalli. 

In May 2024 he composes, arranges and records the music for the short film “Servants of Stories” directed by Valerio Marcozzi.  

In June 2024 he curates the sound design and audio post-production of the shortmovie “Mayday” directed by Simone D'Alessandro. 

In July 2024 he curates the sound design and audio post-production of the shortmovie “La Notte Giovane” directed by Nicola Bisi and Fabiana Russo. 

In August 2024 he composed, arranged and recorded the music for the shortmovie “Night Watchman” directed by Surya Dev Singh.
